Biggest morning tea
I dropped into the Warburton Quilters and Stitchers biggest morning tea, which was really in the afternoon and in Yarra Junction not Warburton, but apart from those finer details it was a lovely afternoon of chatting and cakes and nice to catch up with a lot of people and what they have been sewing. I forgot to take photos too busy eating and catching up and they meet in the fire station so we had to check out the trucks too. Mum is a member of the group and one day when I don't have little ones to tag along I might get to join and sew myself.....one day.

Squishy Mail!
From Wendy in New Zealand, a lovely gift for our Mother's Day gift fairy swap. Fabric and matching threads, with some cute tape measure trim and the sweetest little pin cushion with the tiniest cross stitches ever.

You really know you're a mother when...
You spend 4 hours on Mothers Day sitting in the medical centre with a sick three year old. Glad to say she's much better today. But all was not lost, I did get some spoiling, Phill cooked everyone egg and bacon for breaky and some special squishy mail arrived, for a man who will not shop he cuts up a storm on the internet! Then my Mum cooked me a lovely roast dinner for tea, still can't do without my Mum! Hope you all had a happy Mother's Day.

ANZAC Day
Our school is only small, 60 kids, but around Anzac Day, the actual day is a public holiday, we have a anzac service complete with piper, the last post and laying a wreath. It was lovely this morning, the pipes echoing around the hills, the kids silent and really absorbing the atmosphere of the occasion. I also went to our local dawn service and stood next to four teenagers who had walked there together in the dark, it's nice to see the next generation showing respect to our diggers.
Forgot to mention...
That I also picked up a few little bits and pieces for my gift fairy swap, sorry I can't show you those until after Mother's day, it's off to New Zealand to Wendy.

We made it
to AQC! I left the boys and Tulley with Dad to have a bonfire and cut some wood and took Mum, Meg and Lewis to AQC and then into town. I did a little shopping at the show...
vintage feedsacks from Luccello, yummo
ballerinas on black, not my usual style but Meg loved them and aqua map of Paris, she's into all things french, a pink repro and my fav, froggy green, that's what I call it anyway, the colour here is not good, it's a real 1940's green that is really hard to get. Mum picked up a red brolly pattern and a few brochures, she's in the market for a new machine.
We also found Flynn sitting on his perch people watching.
Then off into the city, we found the real luccello shop, no easy task but very cute. Then we wandered through a few of the old arcades and lots of laneways, took Meg through China town and into Myers, which stocks OPI nail polish, every single one of their 300 or so colours! She chose a set of 4 minis and is very pleased, she's already tried all of the colours out, not on me this time. Even Lewis had a good day, he's been getting teeth so hasn't been the happiest camper and a day with Mum, mostly in the baby carrier or the pram just watching the world go by was just his speed.
I could of slept like this on the way home! Lots of walking, but a lovely day out. Meg is already planning a return trip!

Flynn the Fox is off to AQC
He is traveling in style with Marilyn from The Patchwork Teahouse, he has his matching booties packed and is ready to go. I'm hoping I may get in on one of the days, it's been a few years since I've made it to this show and it's sounding so good. However I'm not sure how successful a trip it will be with a baby who wants to crawl everywhere and a 3yr old....we'll just have to see what happens.
